SOME EVENTS OF 2024

(ALMOST) FATHERS' DAY BBQ - 15 JUNE

Thanks to Master Griller Ant and several salad and dessert artisans, the BBQ was a great success in spite of the windy conditions!

BINGO COFFEE MORNING - 20 JUNE

The June Coffee Morning took the form of a traditional BINGO competition, thanks to our polished village caller Peter! Great fun and hilarious! "Two Fat Ladies!"

SOME EVENTS OF 2023

CHRISTMAS LUNCH - 9 DECEMBER

The Frogmore Christmas Lunch was a fantastic success! Pat and Ant produced a scrumptious feast for a full house of jolly merrymakers. Santa made a space in his busy yuletide calendar for us all.

BONFIRE NIGHT - 4 NOVEMBER

Frogmore's Bonfire Night was a mud-squelching foggy-glasses first class success! Thanks to all the intrepid children (and adults!) who braved the "challenging" conditions for a wonderful evening of hot dogs, beer, mulled wine, sparklers and fireworks! Sincere apologies to one ancient punter (I think Guy was his name?) who ended the night rather worse for wear...

BOARD GAMES COFFEE MORNING - 21 SEPTEMBER

The September FVCA Coffee Morning Games competition was a raucous occasion full of laughter and team shenanigans!

FROGMORE CREEKSIDE FAIR - 27 AUGUST

Thanks to the village team, the 2023 Frogmore Creekside Fair was a great success! Waterside merriment, Pimms and Strawberries, Cakes Galore, Welly Wanging, Mud and Smallcraft Racing, Children's Games all great fun!

DEVON QUIZ COFFEE MORNING - 15 JULY

Local residents displayed their breadth of local knowledge, while consuming vast quantities of tasty scones. A good time was had by all!

BEETLE DRIVE COFFEE MORNING - 15 JUNE

Coffee-fuelled antics - along with more than a little cutting edge avant garde insect portraiture - filled the Village Hall for this enjoyable event. Bring on the rematch!

CORONATION TEA PARTY - 7 MAY

The much-anticipated Frogmore coronation event was a great success! The Village Hall heaved with more than eighty loyal subjects enjoying a fantastic feast expertly produced by Jo and Ruth, and the bar kept our glasses royally charged for some hours...  The new sovereign - in marzipan form - briefly visited us before being dispatched by hungry village revolutionaries and regicides. Our chairman Tim was able to bring the proceedings to a happy and peaceful conclusion with no need for official investigation.

As a bonus, the village was able to honour our long-serving and much-loved chairman emeritus Peter, with drink and song.

BANGERS & MASH EVENING - 3 FEBRUARY

The evening could have not gone better for a start to 2023.  We were treated to bangers and mash followed by apple crumble for all there.  After supper, the wonderful Old Gaffers sang us sea shanty songs with gusto and we all joined in.

Thanks so much to the FVCA and volunteers who made it a very special occasion.

SOME EVENTS IN 2022

CHRISTMAS

We celebrated Christmas this year with the lighting up of the tree by the hall and singing carols and had  a BBQ and mulled wine.

Then on 10 December we held our annual Christmas Lunch at the hall. We had a full Christmas dinner plus a visit from Father Christmas and his elf carrying a sack of goodies for everyone. We sang carols and it was lovely to get together with our village community.

BONFIRE NIGHT

We celebrated Bonfire Night in style! It had rained all day but by 6.00pm it had stopped raining and the skies cleared. The villagers met at the village hall and there was a procession from there to the field with Guy. The Guy was ceremoniously put on the bonfire and everyone enjoyed the BBQ and some mulled wine or beer.  Then the fireworks started and they were a splendid sight to see.  It was a great success, loved by adults and children alike.
